Matt Garmony, FAPI
Managing Director
Licensed Valuer
Matt is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute, Licensed Valuer No. 41203 in WA and Certified Practising Valuer and in 2006 became Managing Director. Matt has been in the property industry since 1994, however has grown up with the real estate and property valuation industry and the family business, and therefore you could say it is in his blood. Matt’s career commenced with our company formally know as John Garmony & Associates as a trainee valuer, and then spent 6 years as a licensed valuer with a St Georges Terrace commercial Real Estate agency in the valuation department undertaking commercial and industrial valuations. Matt returned to John Garmony & Associates in 2003 in an executive position brining a wealth of Commercial and Industrial valuation experience and in 2006 became Managing Director and changed the company name to Garmony Property Consultants.
Matt is a Past President of the Young Property Professionals of the Australian Property Institute and is a past State Board Member, and has been involved with various committees of the Australian Property Institute. In 2002, Matt was awarded the Australian Property Institutes – Excellence in Property Award, and in 2009 was advanced to a Fellow member of the Australian Property Institute.
Matt’s dedication to the dynamic nature of the property valuation industry has driven him to research and become experienced in the valuation of commercial and specialist property types. Over the past few years Matt has become an industry recognised expert in the valuation of Service Stations and Roadhouses, has completed valuations of Golf Courses, Retirement Villages, Motor Racing tracks, ground leases and residential development sites. Matt carries out numerous rental valuations on a broad range of property types and is regularly appointed by the President of the Australian Property Institute for Rental Determinations.

John Garmony, FAPI
Licensed Valuer
John is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute, Licensed Valuer No. 33 in WA and a Certified Practising Valuer. John Garmony’s valuation experience extends over 40 years throughout Western Australia including city, commercial and industrial, retail, residential and rural valuations. These valuations have involved multi storey office buildings, shopping centres, strata titled and single residential and recreational properties. Other special assignments include acting as Arbitrator and expert witness on many occasions. Clients include a wide range of financial institutions, accountants, solicitors, public companies, government departments, local councils and semi government identities. John is Past President (2006-2008) of the Australian Property Institute (Western Australian Division). He is also Past Chairman of the Institute’s Professional Development and Complaints Committees and has sat on Australian Property Institute National Taskforce Committees on property related matters.

Kirsty Norquay, AAPI
Licensed Valuer
Kirsty is an Associate of the Australian Property Institute, a Certified Practising Valuer and Licensed Valuer No. 44458 in WA. Kirsty commenced working in the property industry and Garmony Property Consultants in 2006 as an Assistant Valuer whilst completing her Bachelor of Commerce Majoring in Property and Marketing in 2007 and a Graduate Certificate in Property Valuation in 2008 at Curtin University of Technology. During this time, Kirsty assisted on numerous commercial, industrial, residential and specialist property types obtaining a broad knowledge of the Perth property market. Since becoming licensed in 2009, Kirsty has continued practising in residential, commercial and industrial valuations along with extensive experience in transferable leasehold valuations of retirement villages, medical, commercial and industrial properties, as well as preparing numerous valuations for Family Court Purposes. Kirsty’s efficient and professional work ethic provides clients of Garmony Property Consultants, with prompt professional advice, which we pride ourselves on.

Brad Hunt, AAPI
Licensed Valuer
Brad commenced working with Garmony Property Consultants in 2009 whilst undertaking his Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Property at Curtin University, of which he completed in 2010. As an assistant valuer, Brad worked alongside Managing Director, Matt Garmony on numerous commercial, industrial and specialist property types, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience until becoming licensed in 2011. Brad is now an experienced, professional valuer who is diligent and efficient, completing a wide variety of property valuations, focusing on residential and small commercial and industrial properties. Brad’s professional approach to the valuation process delivers our clients with prompt professional advice, which follows with Garmony Property Consultants mantra.

Connor Shaw, PMAPI
Assistant Valuer
Connor commenced working with Garmony Property Consultants in 2011 after completing his Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Property at Curtin University. Connor assists the licensed valuers with property research, site inspections and has been working alongside Managing Director, Matt Garmony on numerous commercial, industrial and specialist property types, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience. The thorough one on one training that we put our property graduates through at Garmony Property Consultants, develops them into professional, experienced valuers for when they become licensed. As well as assisting on site inspections, Connor’s role is also to collate and update sales and leasing evidence in our custom designed Sales and Rental Evidence database, enabling our valuers quick access to comparable evidence for their valuation reporting.

In some circumstances Garmony Property Consultants engage experienced licensed valuers who either specialise in specific specialist areas of property valuation or who are called on to support our team. The Consultant Valuers engaged by us are carefully selected and undergo the same compliance as our regular staff and their work is overseen by our director or senior valuers to maintain our high level of quality.
Our valuation staff have combined experienced of over 70 years in real estate consultancy, with the company being established in 1984. As a mark of our standing in the profession, we are often appointed to act as Arbitrators under the Commercial Arbitration Act to resolve property matters as well as being appointed to provide Determinations by either the President of the Australian Property Institute or by mutual agreement between Landlords and Tenants.

Sonja Garmony
Office Manager/ Accounts
Sonja oversees the administration of the office as well as the company accounts, having a pivotal role since 2006 after commencing with the company in 2003. In her career, she has been employed in administration roles in government departments, been successful in sales and purchasing positions for various product types, as well as customer relations and service in the airline industry. Sonja has also completed the Real Estate Property Management Course gaining knowledge of the property industry. Sonja’s broad customer relations background brings an essential dynamic to the smooth operation of the company.

Secretary / Administration
Garmony Property Consultants secretary welcomes our clients enquiries and assists our valuers with preparing valuation reports. The diverse role includes finalising reports, client invoicing and payment receipts as well as directing customer enquiries to our team members.
